Well, I have lurked for a while around this group and others. I would join
in but I'm not going to arse lick anyone! Nor am I going to have my posts
whipped into line by any toe rag. Being told which thread not to follow is
just not for me. Indeed if I met most of you in a Laleland bar I would
probably run a mile. So to speak. Mind you the landlord would probably
throw you out before that.
There are at most 6 of you keeping this group pure for Cumbrian folks for
local things for local people....all 6!
Oh Well.
Well Ferdi, the trouble around here recently has been the tr0lls - we no
longer know who to trust, apart from people we actually know. We've always
welcomed new blood... <licks lips> and it would be dreadful if the group
stagnated into a hidey-hole for a few exclusive old friends. Assuming you're
genuine (i.e., a vaguely normal human being, not someone wanting to kill us
off with cross-posts and so on) we'd love to know more about you. Don't go
away!

Be warned, though...Edith will be along shortly to interrogate you...

You can make light of it as much as you like.
The original poster is nearer the truth than anyone here can admit.
I suppose once drawn into that sort of relationship it
is difficult to see it from the outside.

I was trying to inject a bit of humour into the post and maybe get involved
in some interaction, other than abusive interaction. I did try.
What's your recipe for getting to know people?

The old ones are always the best - but this one is nevertheless still
true.
