Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good Indian restaurant in any of these areas?

- Camborne
- Redruth
- Hayle
- Truro

Or somewhere near any of these places!

Thanks,

Mark.

There are two good Indian Restaurants in Perranporth both in the high street
and both more or less next to each other The more modern looking one (you
will know what I mean) was slightly more expensive and in my opinion not
quite so good on the food front as the other.

I had the worst Indian meal ever from the modern one last year.
It was supposed to be a veggie curry but consisted entirely of overcooked
white cabbage with some oatmeal coloured sauce that loked as if it came out
of a bottle.

Absolutely dreadful - never been back.
It might have been an off day I suppose, and it might be better for
meat-eaters.

In Truro the only places my wife and I choose to go to are:

The Baba, 32 Lemon Street. 01872 262694.
The Shanaz, 1 Edward Street. 01872 225896

You can get a good takeaway from Curry In Hurry, 58 Little Castle
Street.

Maps and photos of the locations are here

Doing a wee bit of searcing I found you can get the menu for The Baba in
Acrobat format from http://www.bengalirestaurant.com/baba-menu.pdf
And The Shanaz menu (unfortunately there are no prices listed unlike The
Baba) is available online at http://www.theshanaz.co.uk/

My favourite....mind you on Saturday night I made a Butter Chicken Curry
using a chopped up whole chicken, some of the fresh ingredients from our
local health food store included green & red chilies, garlic, ginger, cashew
nuts, peanuts & melon seeds crushed up finely in with the traditional
spices, the finishing touch that thickened up the sauce was four tablespoons
of sour cream, served on a bed of white rice it was a spicy treat that
vanished quickly, the smell filled the house but I sure was willing to make
that sacrifice.

True but curry powder contains the ground up dry basic ingredients, I
imagine the fresh ingredients would be just as good.
