Anyone know anything about the CPR Regeneration Project?

They advertised an 'open house',
http://www.cprregeneration.co.uk/newsroom.htm

A friend of mine went along to ask a few questions.

Some dude broke his camera. I believe guy is Niel Lindsey, CPR
Regeneration Executive Manager.

Check it out:

I must have missed something there.
I thought he was asked to stop filming and permission to film was not being
given.

True, but I assume that would not give the guy the right to break his
camera, would it?

I think it's just a case of CPR Regeneration Rage.

Good video though.

Except at the end of the video he says "break the camera" so he did.

A friend of mine tried to attend a meeting of the CPR Regeration
Project in Cornwall which was advertised as being open to members of
the public. Full text here:
http://www.cprregeneration.co.uk/newsroom.htm

When he arrived this is what happened.
http://chipandfish.com/cpr.mpg

Is the guy who broke his camera equipment within his rights because my
friend should not have been filming in the first place?

Faked Ending.

I quizzed my friend about the ending and yes, he put that in himself.
The only damage was cosmetic to the wireless microphone the guy ripped
off.

I told him not to tamper with the evidence he but he told me he has no
interest in pursing the matter legally. He thinks it's funny more than
anything else.

Not that it makes any difference at this point but I got him to repost
the original unedited version at the same link:
http://chipandfish.com/cpr.mpg

According to what he told me, he's a resident of Camborne who often
shows up to public meetings with his camera to ask questions. He's
never had a problem before and people are usually happy to talk about
what's going on in the community.

Contrary to what some may think, he's not a troublemaker or a pratt.

I've seen some of his other videos and they're very innocuous. He's
covered things like local roadworks, town planning, restoration, etc.
and talked to architects, planners, council members and such. The
questions are usually simple things abouts costs, completion dates,
etc..

Here's the way it usually goes:

Doesn't alter the fact that CPR Regeneration is making a lot of
deveolpers rich on taxpayers money and there's little transparency to
what they do.

Maybe the guy who threw him out was afraid of being asked an awkward
question about those flagpoles in pool.

Like I say, Niel Lindsey should take a lesson from Mike Peters.

Just answer the questions.

Just another case of people who are in the know, or in with the funding
authorities creaming money from Cornwall, how about the recruitment agency
in the Wadebridge area who had a 50k loan from Cornwall finance and then
went bust? Having gone bust they then reformed as another business doing the
same thing. Funnily enough the MD is a local Conservative! Still they have
nice houses in Cornwall and a lovelly flat in docklands, Finance cornwall is
of course short of 50k!

There are people making some handsome money from Cornwall, shame its not the
people who actually need it!

I'm just a visitor here but if you had something like the proposition
system we have in California I think you'd cut a lot of government
waste. I think you call it a referendum. We vote on all major issues.
Trust the government to spend our tax money? No way, dude. We vote on
everything from drinking hours to medical cannabis. Like for example:
http://www.smartvoter.org/2005/11/08/ca/state/prop/

I suggest you guys adopt the same system:

Proposition1: Should we give the recruitment agency 50K?

Proposition 2: Should we give EU funds to the CPR Regeneration Co. or
directly to local councils?

The government in the UK seems to distrust the people with *any*
decision making. Everyone goes down the pub and complains but nobody
seems to want to do anything about it. I live in San Francisco and if
some bureaucrat blew 50K of my tax money we'd be turning up at City
Hall with pitch folks.

It's your money, you should have a right to decide on how it's spent.
